Straight slides need an opening 24" wide and mount on the fort deck with two screws. No other supports are required. Generally, the slide extends about two feet farther than the deck height. (Depending on the type of slide.) On a 5-foot deck, the slide may extend up to 7 feet from the edge of the fort.
The required safety distance past the end of the slide is 6 feet for residential use. We recommend a safety mat at the bottom of the slide for a safer landing and to help prevent a mud hole at the base of the slide.
